SILICONE FACADE

This facade system, appearing entirely glass from the outside, boasts a simple and elegant design. The selected opening glass panels (hidden wings) preserve the integrity of the facade. Heat-insulated glass is fixed to the facade with special cassette profiles. Sealing between the glasses is ensured by a double EPDM seal, and silicone is not used for sealing between the panels.

  • Profile Width: 50 mm
  • Vertical Profile Depth: Minimum 80 mm, Maximum 120 mm
  • Horizontal Profile Depth: Minimum 30 mm, Maximum 127 mm
  • Profile Thickness: 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.8 / 2 / 2.1 / 2.3 / 2.5 mm
  • Glass Thickness: 24 mm - 40 mm
  • Hidden Opening Wing Width: Maximum 1500 mm
  • Hidden Opening Wing Height: Maximum 2000 mm

This system also enables external hidden opening wing applications.

Silicone Facade Prices

Silicone facade prices are determined per square meter. The pricing may vary based on the quality of materials used and the project's specifications. During building planning, a custom pricing is established considering silicone facade prices per square meter. Depending on the preference of building owners in exterior design, silicone glass facade can be utilized.

However, to obtain accurate information about silicone facade cladding prices, it is important to seek information from professional companies specializing in silicone facade systems. While online research can provide insights, seeking support from professional firms for accurate material measurement and planning is more beneficial for proper pricing.

What is Silicone Facade?

Silicone facade is a glass cladding system created by filling 16 mm joint gaps between glass panels on the exterior facade with silicone. This system uses a design without aluminum frame profiles, hence also known as "structural silicone facade systems." Insulated glass is mounted using special cassette profiles. The glass, adhered to cassette profiles in a specific way, achieves a sleek appearance without visible aluminum profiles on the exterior.

Silicone facade cladding system is preferred for exterior building facades as it imparts a rich and prestigious facade appearance. Wing profiles can be applied within the modules according to demand, integrating any glass panel seamlessly from the outside. The hidden wing mechanisms maintain the simplicity of the glass with the added feature of an opening wing.

Silicone Facade Features
Vertical Load-Bearing Profiles: The system is created using load-bearing vertical profiles attached to anchors made of aluminum or galvanized steel, connected to the openings specified in building projects and the floor concrete.

  • Frames Remaining Inside: Its most prominent feature is the frames remaining inside, providing integrity on the external facade. This ensures that only the glass cladding is visible from the outside, adding a modern aesthetic to the structure.
  • Profile Width: 54 mm.
  • Different Horizontal and Vertical Profiles: The system has different and condensation-channelled horizontal and vertical profiles.
  • Condensation Channels: Condensation channels are used on the external facade to ensure maximum drainage of air and water.
  • Detail Solutions: Offers practical and easy detail solutions.
  • Bonding Process: The bonding process is used to ensure the integrity between glass and facades.
  • Steel Profile Support: The system is supported by steel profiles.
  • Horizontal Profile Connection: Horizontal profiles are connected with a swallowtail system.
  • Flexible Width Options: Allows for different widths of aluminum facade supports.

These features make the silicone facade system a durable, aesthetic, and functional solution.

Cassette Silicone Facade System:

These systems, frequently used in the exterior facades of architectural structures in the last decade, stand out as the most suitable and ideal facade systems in today's conditions.

  • Main Load-Bearing Profiles: Horizontal and vertical profiles, serving as the main load-bearing elements, are used according to the specified dimensions and grid of facades. Anchorage connections are adjusted based on the floor height.
  • Static Calculations: Silicone facade static calculations are made based on floor height and building connection details, adjusting anchors according to the building's movement status.
  • Expansion Material and Profile: Expansion material or a profile suitable for the project is added to the beam area. One end is left free to allow the facades to move according to the building's seismic activity.
  • Cassette Profile Installation: Cassette profiles are bonded into the previously created frame. Once the structural support is complete, cassette panels are mounted, facilitating the ease of hidden wing opening.
  • Preview and Design: Computer-aided previews of architectural structures are performed to determine how building facades will appear in advance. 3D silicone facade previews provide the opportunity to check details that may be overlooked in drawings.

Frameless Silicone Facade System:

This system is generally preferred as an alternative facade.

  • Glass Fixing: Glasses are fixed vertically and horizontally onto the profiles using toggle clips at the points where the double glazing strip is located.
  • Silicone Filling: Joints between glasses are filled with silicone to create a dual-directional silicone appearance by filling horizontal and vertical profiles with silicone.
  • Profile Usage: The glazing done with fixing profiles allows for minimal profile usage. Minimum 4 mm glazing is achieved with a single glass strip.
  • Strip Options: There are options for glass interstrip ranging between 16 mm and 20 mm.
  • Natural Ventilation: Facade wing profiles, designed according to the system, provide natural ventilation.
  • Economic Option: The use of cassette profiles and bonding process provides cost savings, offering an economical exterior facade option for building owners.

Thermal Insulation and Protection Features of Silicone Facade System

The silicone facade system, commonly chosen for exterior cladding, prevents water and air entry into the building through condensate channels, maintaining interior temperature. In adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, and storms, the temperature inside the building is stabilized. The increased durability of the silicone facade, depending on the material used, contributes to a long-lasting structure. Materials specifically produced for exterior facades are categorized into different quality classes based on specified criteria.

The careful installation of glass covering on the exterior ensures insulation against external factors. The silicone facade not only provides thermal insulation but also offers protection against sunlight. The glass used for the silicone facade undergoes special tests to ensure both thermal insulation and protection from sunlight. This exterior facade system, in terms of cost, provides savings for users. Through condensate channels, it contributes significantly to maintaining room temperature by allowing the evacuation of air from the exterior facade.

Silicone Facade Applications and Features

With the increasing number of tall buildings in recent times, silicone facade systems are commonly preferred. To achieve a contemporary and stylish appearance for tall buildings, a significant portion of their exteriors is covered with glass. The silicone facade system is versatile and can be used in various types of structures. When implementing for new architectural structures, seeking support from project details is quite straightforward. Based on project details, the silicone facade system can be applied to the structure in the most suitable way, making it an ideal choice for architectural structures, constructions, floors, and columns.

Designed to be compatible with modern architecture, this system may not harmonize well with older structures. Different methods can be used for exterior applications in older architectural structures. The silicone facade system should be considered during the design phase of architectural structures. It should be calculated and designed entirely differently from the entire exterior, making it more suitable for new architectural structures. However, if older architectural structures have been appropriately designed for this system or already have a silicone facade, the application can be carried out.

Choosing a Silicone Facade: How to Match Requirements?

Customer preferences and location offer various options for selecting different silicone facade models. These models have different transparency and sun-shielding properties. Professional exterior cladding companies determine the most suitable options for architectural structures by conducting necessary analyses and planning. Based on analysis results, the most appropriate exterior facade system should be chosen for the architectural structure.

Therefore, it is important to work with companies that have thoroughly researched references before starting. Collaborating with a professional company for selecting a silicone facade model that matches customer expectations, building location, and architectural requirements is a critical step to achieve a high-quality and functional exterior facade.
